Welcome everybody, today I propose an uncomplicated, magical game where you create multiple, colourful textures that will form a wonderful base for a layout.
a. At the beginning of your work prepare a bright base (it might be ordinary, white cardboard; I used Stationery Linen paper from the newest Hand Made Lily Bee Design collection), some flour, some masking tape and some photos. Arrange an initial compostion of your work on the base.
b. The first texture. Stick vertical and horizontal strips of masking tape on a chosen part of the base.
c. The second texture. Place the mask (Prima Marketing flower mask) on the base, then cover it with gesso or white, thick acrylic paint.
d. The third texture. Glue the photos onto a scrap of natural, bright canvas.
e. The fourth texture. As soon as the texture created with gesso is dry and the fabric is glued, proceed to painting these surfaces. You may do it using either acrylic paint or watercolours. I applied Talens Ecoline paint and some bright fabric paint.
f. The fifth texture. When the paint is dry, pilfer a couple of your child’s crayons in order to use them to make some scrawls of various shades.
On thus prepared background glue a title and include black journaling – to introduce some contrast. Add some paper details and your work is ready!
Have fun experimenting with texture layers.
