Hiker’s mini album 4×4.

Today I publish my latest TINY book made with the latest ‚JET’ scrapbook add-on which is ONE OF THE BEST KITS EVER at Studio Calico – thanks to Marcy Penner (kisses :* ). It’s probably not available at the Studio Calico shop now, but there are some lucky people all over the world who bought it at the reveal night. Well – I have an inspiration for all of you. No matter if you grabbed that set of goodies or not – maybe you will feel inspired looking at my mini 4×4 album.

The cover is closed thanks to the fancy Button & Tie Envelope envelope from the kit. I transformed it into the back and the front of the cover, what is (in my opinion) one of the greatest things I made lately 🙂 ahahahahah it has a CONSTRUCTION (!!!) for me it’s a big deal because my alogical brain can’t constract anything. This is the peak of my technical capabilities – that’s why I am so proud of it. OK – the inner side part:

For those of you who like the look of this mini I collect a set of supplies which may help you to create something similar to this. What’s important? The size, the format, colours, craft elements (or craft colour as a part of the mini), tags and of course – overlays (transparencies) which add something unique to the project.

What I chose.Two kinds of overlays – both from Studio Calico lines: Brighton Pier and South Market. Next thing – ink pads. I chose only two based colours from the whole range of Color Theory collection. I adore various ready-made titles, espcially those wood veneers from Brighton Pier line. Add a craft feeling to the wholeness – this set of round cork stickers will be fabulous. What I love and what I my ‚must have’ in the mini album are tags. I couldn’t resist and I add few tubes of brand new Color Theory acrylic paint – they are more than just tiny treasures, they are really good! I chose various shades of green and blue, cyan and a pop of coral colour. At the end – good news – ‚Aloha’ Stamp Set is back! It’s perfect for travel minis, so I think it’s a good place to mention about them.

Talking about the ‚JET’ add-on we have to get back and say WHY it was created. The third MINI BOOK class from the MINI BOOK LIBRARY seria. Yes! It’s an official time to enroll to this class!!!

‚Sandlot’ reveal!

After whole last week of sneaks and selections of my choice, new classes and upcoming european workshops, it’s time for ‚Sandlot’ reveal – finally! I wrote a lot about these kits already, what can I add? I think only my projects made with August goodies with a short description ‚how-to’.

Traditionally starting from the scrapbook [Main Kit Only] project:

When I saw this pink exclusive paper I knew that I should make a ‚big photo’ project this time. I printed a huge black and white photo which was made during our vacation in Tatra Mountains. We spent AMAZING time amoung the highest hills in Poland – spectacular views and unforgetable emotions. Our best vacation EVER! To the main kit goodies I added few remarkable printables designed by Tina Aszmus – my favourites this month!

This supposed to be also a [main kit only] project but I couldn’t resist and I added few elements from the ‚JET’ scrapbook add-on (yellow trnsparent element, yellow brad). I used set of photos which I made during the meeting with Mona Gee (Polish scrapper, well known in the SC gallery). I was inspired by this fabulous ribbon by KNOT&BOW from the main kit!

And my last page – a kind of ‚timeline’ of the hiking day. I tried to answer on your requests published at the SC message board, that you would like to see more multiple photo layouts. So I used six pictures made during the trip from ‚Wierch Poroniec’ through ‚Rusinowa Polana’ to ‚Gęsia Szyja’ hill. I used two Heidi Swapp masks here from the ‚HERCULES’ add-on, October Afternooon alphabet from the ‚JET’ add-on and I wrote a word ‚beautiful’ using a nib.

One more project… This month, the whole Studio Calico creative team was challenged to scraplift one of the SC members. It was a crazy ride for us! We were ‚ordering’ the names from the gallery  – oh, it was a madness 🙂 Finally I decided that I am going to scraplift an A4 page project created my Magdalena – Rockermorsan.

Another ‚happy friendship’ project in my gallery this month! I start thinking that ‚Sandlot’ kits are just made for ‚friendly’ layouts! 🙂 I would like to say thank you to Magdalena for letting me be inspired by her page. I am waiting for more and more of your amazing creations!

Few times in this post I mentioned about Marcy Penner – well it will be definitely her month at Studio Calico. This amazing, inspiring and one of the kindest person in our creative team prepared for you many things – amoung them – new class WORKSPACE.

‚Sandlot’ sneak peeks!

Finally, I know… You were waiting for so long this month. But ot’s vacation time… I can;t believe that you are sitting at home and waiting for the sneaks, right? I am so curious what are your desitnations this year! I’m travelling a lot this summer. As you already know I was visiting the seaside and last week I came back from the mountains. In a few days I am going at the Baltic Sea once again! Lucky me 🙂 But before my next travel I want to share few ‚Sandlot’ sneaks with you, hope you will like them.

Yep – while waiting for the August kits I still have something made with July ‚Penny Arcade’ sets. I have nothing to share with you according to the new ‚Sandlot’ sneak peek yet (just give me a week – come on! it’s summer laziness!), but I have other layout.

I used here embellishments and alphabets, stamps from the July kits and one of my favourites papers from ‚One Way Ticket’ designed by Polish brand Studio Tekturek. The colours are melting together in a perfect way for me.

Hey! New sketch challenge!

Three weeks ago I received a proposition to create a layout inspired my one of the projects created by our July guest – Emma Wood. The challenge was clear: we have a layout and a sketch inspired by this project. My work was to make a scrap using ‚Penny Arcade’ kits and THIS SKETCH. It wasn’t easy for me as you probably noticed that I am not a clean&simple kind of scrapper… This is the oryginal work made by Emma:

There are few common elements in our projects. First of all I was inspired by this amazing woodgrain paper and wood veneer alphabet from the scrapbook min kit. I decided to stay in this wooden feeling mood in my work as well. Emma made a double A4 page, I just devided my background on almost equal parts.

I added these amazing leaves cut files designed by Kim for July.

My favoruite element is – of course – the wood venneer lemon which I painted using Mr. Huey’s watercolour set and used it instead of letter ‚O’ 🙂

Baltic summer :: mini album.

I have no idea what’s happened with me this month, but I am full of creative energy! I think it’s becasue of that I finally have vacation. In June we spent few days at the seaside and now we are visiting the biggest Polish mountains – so many beautiful views! One more thing – this month’s ‚Penny Arcade’ Studio Calico kits are just stunning. Full of embellishments, exclusive designs and amazing colours.

Few days ago I showed you my juicy [Main Kit Only] layout and I added few painted freebies >>> HERE >>> in this post. I am still waiting for your amazing creations: layouts, PL spreads, mini books and cards! Promise – I will choose some and I publish them on my blog.

OK – during my work with that layout and journaling cards I made this mini. I used many ‚Penny Arcade‚ embellishments and stamps from the main scrapbook kit and add-ons, July printables designed by Marcy and some older elements from SC kits too (like AT tag…). You can also find some precious papers and elements cuted from ‚One Way Ticket‚ collection designed by ‚Studio Tekturek‚.

Anyway – I have to admit, that the cover is my favourite part – and I never like any covers! I hate to do them! This time it was different. BTW – the cover is made with recycled Studio Calico package 🙂
